Baghdad industrial transfer delayed
A source in the Baghdad Municipality revealed that the plan to relocate industrial and commercial activities from the city center to the outskirts, including wholesale markets, industrial zones, and repair workshops, is still in the proposal stage and has not yet entered the implementation phase due to lack of necessary funding. According to the official, the plan is part of the city's developmental strategy until 2030, but current financial circumstances prevent the start of projects, the designation of proposed sites, or the setting of a timeline for the relocation. Additionally, the project remains at the proposal stage, and no decisions have been made regarding the design or the use of the future sites, whether as green spaces or urban facilities.
