Al-Nu'man: Enhancing Security Forces' Capabilities
The Iraqi government, led by the Prime Minister and the General Command of the Armed Forces, confirmed that leadership efforts are focused on developing the technical and combat capabilities of security forces, with efforts to improve armament, enhance cyber capabilities, and support air defense systems. Additionally, they aim to reduce reliance on the international coalition, which withdrew after a military assessment. The government also indicated that military operations against ISIS continued internally, with a focus on upgrading military technology, including local manufacturing of drones, and maintaining border security with Syria using advanced technologies. They affirmed that the explosion at the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shabi) headquarters was internal, with no indicators of external targeting, and that security forces are capable of effectively protecting national security.
