Al-Diwaniyah Reviews Zako’s Barley Cultivation Ideas
The Agriculture and Water Resources Committee in Dhi Qar Province is studying the possibility of transferring the experience of cultivating the rice crop using sprinkler irrigation systems from Zaxo District in Duhok, with the aim of improving water management amid the water challenges facing the agricultural sector. This study aims to evaluate the potential for applying the experience locally, focusing on reducing water consumption and increasing economic productivity, in line with the climatic and agricultural conditions of the province. The committee aspires to implement a pilot project in cooperation with relevant authorities and farmers, relying on proven experimental results, with the goal of developing more sustainable and effective farming methods.
