Iraq cuts customs on food and medicines

The General Customs Authority has decided to resume exemption from customs duties on eggs, chicken, live meats, and medicines in Iraq until the end of 2026. The aim is to support the stability of local markets, facilitate the import of these products, and reduce the financial burden on citizens. The implementation of this decision began on October 20, 2026, and will continue until December 31 of the same year, with the necessary measures in place to ensure smooth customs procedures and compliance with legal and health regulations. The goal is to enhance the supply of food and pharmaceutical items in the Iraqi market.
