"Zero-distance rubber bullet" attack targets Marwan Barghouti

Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti, a leader in the Fatah movement, was injured by a rubber bullet fired by an Israeli jailer inside his prison, resulting in cuts and bleeding. This incident occurs amid increasing harassment and attacks against him, along with an international campaign calling for his release. He has previously been subjected to multiple assaults since the beginning of October 2023, including allegations of torture, beatings, and being confined in solitary cells. Barghouti remains a national symbol and has been imprisoned for more than a quarter of a century, with the occupation refusing to release him despite international demands.
