Jordan and Britain discuss economic ties
The President of the Jordanian and Amman Chambers of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Taufik, discussed with Rita Masoud, Secretary-General of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), ways to expand economic cooperation between Jordan and the United Kingdom. The meeting in London focused on strengthening the presence of Jordanian companies in the British market and increasing British investments in the Kingdom, through establishing an institutional work program that sets priorities and connects companies. Particular emphasis was placed on vital sectors such as information technology, tourism, logistics services, pharmaceutical industries, and creative industries. Both sides also highlighted the importance of developing a matrix of the British market’s needs for Jordanian products that have a competitive advantage, as well as expanding cooperation in human resource development through training programs and exchange of labor market information. The overarching goal of this collaboration is to increase exports, foster sustainable partnerships, and enhance trade exchange and investment between the two countries.
