Ebola Cases Reach Thousand
A report indicates that the Republic of Congo has recorded over 3,000 cases of Ebola virus since the outbreak began, including 1,354 deaths. The virus is spreading in the eastern part of the country, specifically in Ituri Province, which accounts for about 90% of the cases. The virus belongs to the Bundibugyo strain, and so far, there is no effective vaccine or specific treatment available for this current strain. Health organizations are working on developing vaccines and conducting clinical trials to treat the disease, amid efforts to improve detection and case tracking in the region.
