Al Ahly Sporting Club is facing a severe financial crisis that is delaying its preparations for the upcoming Premier League season, which begins on August 20th. The club has been unable to reinstate the players or the new coaching staff due to unpaid debts, most notably to an airline company and to former players, which is hindering their return to training. The club was forced to sell its star player, Hossam Abdel Majeed, for €1.5 million to meet some financial obligations, and is currently under a player registration ban that prevents it from making new signings. This limits its options for the new season both in the local league and in the African Champions League. Additionally, the club faces difficulties in appointing a foreign head coach due to financial issues and pending negotiations, reflecting a tough situation that hampers its readiness to compete.
