Al-Hasakah Tribes Protest with Tents
The Arab tribes in the Syrian province of Hasaka have raised their demands by setting up four "war tents" in various areas, as a reaction to the slow implementation of the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the Syrian state's institutions, despite more than six months passing since its signing. The tribes are demanding guarantees from the highest levels of the Syrian government before dismantling the tents, emphasizing the need to fully implement the agreement to establish the state's authority over the entire province, especially regarding the integration of military and security forces and the return of institutions and services. While the government continues its efforts to reconnect institutions with centralized administration, the tribes believe these measures do not reflect a genuine change in control or in the relationship between the population and authority. They warn that maintaining the current situation could make future changes more difficult.
