Government authorities have unveiled an ambitious plan to improve public transportation in Amman through the activation of the smart "Park and Ride" system, aimed at easing traffic congestion and facilitating movement between provinces and the city center. The plan includes establishing modern electronic parking lots capable of accommodating over 1,000 vehicles, integrated with the rapid bus network. It also encourages drivers to leave their cars in designated parking areas to use public transport, helping to reduce emissions and lower fuel consumption. Additionally, the initiative relies on technological connectivity and efficient traffic management, supported by field studies to select strategic locations and analyze traffic counts, all with the goal of implementing an intelligent transportation system that enhances the quality of life and aligns with visions of economic modernization.
