The Crisis Management Department in Jordan has begun conducting trials of the emergency notification system via mobile phone messages across all governorates of the Kingdom. This is in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and local telecom companies. These trials will continue until August 2, 2026, with the aim of testing the system’s readiness to alert citizens about the risks of crises and disasters, especially dust storms. The messages will include audio alerts in both Arabic and English to ensure they are received immediately and to prevent worry when received.
