The National Center for Security and Crisis Management in Jordan announced the activation of a new alert system that relies on sending instant text messages to all mobile phones in the kingdom, as an alternative to traditional sirens, to enhance rapid response during emergencies. These messages reach approximately 15 million subscribers within one second and are sent in both Arabic and English. They contain warnings about potential hazards such as flying objects or drones in the sky, along with specific safety instructions, such as staying away from windows and seeking shelter indoors. This step comes after an increase in air attacks using rockets and drones in the current period, with their frequency surpassing what Jordan experienced during the 12 days of war last June. This necessitated the development of warning mechanisms to ensure the safety of citizens and residents. The public is also urged to avoid suspicious objects and report them to the emergency number 911, to refrain from spreading rumors, and to rely solely on official information.
