Civil status services advance digitally
Ghaith Al-Tayeb, the Director General of the Civil Status and Passports Department, revealed plans to develop the government service system through digital transformation, aiming to make citizens' lives easier and reduce the need for in-person visits. The initiatives include automating the Family Book to become a comprehensive digital document, expanding current digital services that include birth, death, and marriage certificates, and adding 18 new services to enhance reliance on the SAND application. The project seeks to connect systems with relevant authorities, with an emphasis on strengthening cybersecurity to ensure data protection. It also aims to provide improved and rapid services while addressing technical challenges through comprehensive awareness campaigns.
