Iraqi Security Advisor on Iran's Militia Weapons
Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Abudi reported that Iran, after discussions with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi, agreed to restrict weapons to the state's control. Iran also committed to assisting in implementing this measure following the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq. This move is part of the Iraqi government's plan to reform security conditions, which includes enhancing the capabilities of security forces and strengthening trust in democracy, with a focus on controlling weapons outside the state's authority.
