Legal Committee Chair on Real Estate Amendment
The House of Representatives approved an amendment to the Property Law that unifies provisions related to expropriation in road and railway projects, while preserving owners' rights to compensation for any part exceeding a quarter of their property. The amendment aims to simplify procedures and address legal gaps, as well as facilitate the implementation of public transportation projects and reduce infrastructure costs, thereby promoting investment and regional development. It also ensures a balance between public benefit and private property rights. The amendments do not increase expropriation cases; rather, they standardize provisions to apply them more fairly and efficiently.
