Deputy urges fuel price cuts for Jordanians
The Parliamentary Committee on Tourism and Antiquities has called on the government and the Fuel Pricing Committee to reconsider fuel prices for the upcoming month, in light of the current economic conditions and to ease the living burdens on citizens. It emphasized that rising fuel prices impact transportation costs and the overall prices of goods and services, placing pressure on low- and middle-income earners and affecting purchasing power. The committee pointed out that reducing fuel prices would lead to lower operating costs, boost economic activity, and support the sustainability of productive and service sectors—especially given the economic challenges facing the kingdom. The Pricing Committee conducts a monthly review of fuel prices based on global oil prices and import costs, with new prices implemented at the start of each month.
