US Army completes Iran strikes
The U.S. military announced the completion of an "intensive wave" of strikes against Iran, targeting dozens of sites belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard within Iran. These included command centers, missile and drone facilities, and coastal surveillance and defense bases. The aim was to reduce the threats posed by Iran and its proxies to American forces, shipping movements, and neighboring countries. The strikes also targeted areas on Qeshm Island and the city of Abadan. Iran responded by targeting U.S. bases and regional allies' positions, marking an escalation that suggests widening conflict in the Middle East. These developments come after a period of relative quiet and increasing military escalation, reflecting the deepening tension between the United States and Iran, and Iran’s and its allies' movements in the region.
