Lebanese court investigates banker over Netanyahu photo
A photo circulated showing Lebanese banker Anton Sahtnawi sitting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a dinner in Washington, which led the Lebanese judiciary to issue a search and investigation order against him on charges of dealing with Israel and violating the law banning relations with hostile countries. According to the judicial source, he will be prosecuted if evidence of conduct in breach of the law is found, and the case will be reviewed before a final decision is made, with the possibility of referring it to military court. This comes after an official analysis confirmed the authenticity of the photo and that it was not altered. This step serves as a test to determine whether Sahtnawi has violated Lebanese law, which prohibits contact with Israel.
