Public security issues heat wave alert
A report warns of rising temperatures caused by the hot air mass expected to affect the kingdom starting today, Thursday. The temperature will peak on Saturday and remain high until the middle of next week. The security authorities urge citizens and residents to adhere to preventive guidelines to protect against heatstroke and heat exhaustion, such as avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours, drinking plenty of fluids, wearing lightweight clothing, using hats or head coverings, and taking appropriate breaks. It is also advised not to leave children in vehicles or near flammable materials under the sun, to supervise them carefully, and to avoid overloading electrical sockets and discarding cigarette butts in dry areas. Security directorates have confirmed their readiness for emergencies and encourage contacting the emergency number (911) if needed to ensure safety amidst the high temperatures and to avoid potential risks.
