Givati Battalion troops flee Sde Timan
Israeli media reports confirmed that more than 100 soldiers and commanders from a battalion in the Givati Brigade left the Sdei Timin base in the southern Negev due to the tightening of internal disciplinary measures, including the destruction of symbolic plaques that are part of the unit's identity. This came after the battalion commander’s decision to strengthen discipline, which sparked widespread discontent and led to soldiers leaving. The incident occurs amid tensions within the Israeli military due to ongoing operations and the prolonged periods of service. The event is significant given the sensitive location of the military base and its role during the Gaza war, especially as issues related to Palestinian prisoners being held there continue to be discussed, along with the dropping of charges against former soldiers.
