Vanes and Netanyahu meet in Washington
The Axios newspaper reported that U.S. and Israeli officials stated that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a direct and frank conversation in Washington, addressing the longstanding disagreements between them regarding war management and the stance on Iran. The discussions focused on the criticisms Harris directed toward Netanyahu, particularly concerning the Gaza war management and the American opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, with Harris playing a leading role in shaping U.S. policies against Iran. Netanyahu expressed his annoyance over Harris's criticisms, considering them to undermine Israel’s standing, while Harris accused Netanyahu of using intermediaries and media outlets to attack her. The conversation aimed to ease tensions between the two sides and foster cooperation amid current disagreements.
