The Asian Football Confederation has expressed its deep concern regarding the proposed changes by the International Federation (FIFA) related to the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) project, which include private investments in major FIFA tournaments. The AFC affirmed that these changes threaten the unity of the World Cup, as they depend on decisions that could marginalize the role of continental associations and governing bodies, putting the future of global football at economic, sporting, and strategic risk. It also emphasized the need to enhance transparency and ensure the participation of all relevant parties in decision-making processes, criticizing the current weak consultation procedures within FIFA and stressing the importance of addressing them to maintain stability and reliability in the international football system.
