The article points to growing concerns about the marginalization of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the plans for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, as the agency has been absent from coordination meetings related to the recovery process. It emphasizes the importance of involving the agency, which possesses extensive expertise, a wide network of facilities, and substantial resources, to ensure the continuity of essential services such as education, health, and relief. The demands call for the establishment of a comprehensive coordination mechanism that includes the United Nations, local authorities, and UNRWA, to enable the participation of the Palestinian civil society and prevent decisions being made without the involvement of those providing services. The goal is to improve efficiency and ensure that aid reaches those most in need.
