Commander of Southcom, Admiral Brad Cooper, confirmed that his visit to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was inspiring. He praised the crew's resilience after reports of mental health deterioration aboard the ship. He noted that the number of mental health cases was low compared to other aircraft carriers, despite the long and challenging operational conditions. He emphasized that leadership’s focus on mental health is an important part of individual wellbeing. Despite concerns from families and Congress, President Trump dismissed the negative impact, affirming that the length of stay at sea was relatively short and that the ship would be replaced soon. U.S. forces continue to support operations in the Middle East, with the ship remaining at sea for over 200 days—an all-time record.
