Tawjihi system under ongoing review
The new General High School Exam system aims for continuous student assessment and undergoes regular review. In its first year after full implementation, the number of fields was reduced from six to four, allowing students to focus on the majors they wish to study at university. The exam is divided between the 11th grade (4 subjects accounting for 30%) and the 12th grade (4 specialized subjects accounting for 70%), helping to determine the student's future university specialization. The ministry also emphasizes human resource development through extensive training programs for teachers, and is working on restructuring higher education to focus on future-oriented majors that meet market needs, while also promoting greater autonomy for universities. The success rate in the exam was approximately 65.3%, with 4,481 students achieving a grade of 95% or higher.
