The incident highlights the dangers of exploiting personal and professional data to establish and register companies without the owners' knowledge. A pharmacist discovered that she was listed as a partner and director in a pharmaceutical distribution company through the "Misr Digital" platform, despite having no awareness of or consented to this. It was revealed that the company's owners had exploited her CV, which she had previously submitted for employment purposes, to carry out the company registration procedures unlawfully. As a result, she took legal action, including filing a lawsuit to halt the company's activities. This incident follows the failure of many Egyptians to prevent the misuse of their personal data when registering phone lines without their knowledge. It has prompted the Egyptian authorities to step up efforts to address the phenomenon and to emphasize the legal responsibilities associated with verifying and properly handling personal data.
