The Jordanian government has revealed a plan to strengthen the social safety net for university students by increasing support for the Student Fund by 10 million dinars, which will be collected from proceeds from the sale of special vehicle license plates. This increase will help benefit approximately 10,000 more students, raising the total number of beneficiaries to around 63,000 students, with the aim of reducing financial burdens on families. Additionally, a new mechanism will be implemented to distribute grants and loans across different regions to ensure fairness and achieve balance between high- and low-density areas. The eligibility criteria will remain unchanged, starting from the upcoming academic year.
