Global Rise in Gold and Oil Prices Amid Falling US Dollar The global markets experienced a slight increase in oil and gold prices, while the US dollar index declined. According to Bloomberg, Brent crude futures rose to $88.72 per barrel, up 20 cents, whereas West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures fell to $82.35, despite both benchmarks gaining more than 5% over the past week. Gold prices in the spot market increased by 0.3% to reach $4,388.62 per ounce, and September futures rose to $4,444.30. Additionally, the prices of silver, platinum, and palladium increased between 0.4% and 1.2%. A 0.1% decrease in the dollar made gold less expensive for investors holding other currencies, amid US economic data that diminished expectations of future interest rate hikes.
