Jordan intercepts drug smuggling balloons
The Jordanian Armed Forces thwarted a significant drug smuggling attempt early this morning in a qualitative operation. The attempt involved the use of balloons carrying large quantities of drugs, which were on their way to Jordan. Border guard units managed to detect and shoot down these balloons within Jordanian territory, and they seized the cargos in coordination with security agencies and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The forces reaffirm that any smuggling and infiltration attempts will be met with firmness and the full use of military and intelligence capabilities. Operations to secure the borders and prevent their exploitation for drug trafficking will continue to ensure the nation's security and stability.
