The House of Representatives has clarified that it continues to discuss the draft Local Governance Law, aiming to reorganize municipal work and enhance the powers of elected councils. So far, 12 articles out of 70 have been settled. The current discussions focus on provisions that define the framework for cooperation between municipal councils and the executive apparatus, as well as providing greater flexibility in decision-making, with measures to ensure transparency in appointments and to restrict official travel expenses. The law seeks to strengthen local governance, improve services, and transform municipalities into active partners in the local economy, emphasizing the importance of expediting the legislation to ensure better infrastructure and services for citizens.
