The new Local Administration Law aims to improve the level of services provided to citizens in various regions by activating the role of popular committees to ensure that residents' voices and needs reach municipal councils directly and swiftly. The law emphasizes the independence of the municipal executive body, granting the municipal council the authority to select the executive director from the top three candidates based on merit criteria, thereby enhancing transparency and preventing favoritism. Additionally, the law imposes strict oversight of the executive director by the mayor and the ministry to ensure efficient project implementation and the achievement of sustainable local development.
