Jordan achieved a leading position among Arab countries in the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, ranking fifth in the Arab world alongside Bahrain. It outperformed most Arab nations, except for the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. This progress comes amid a significant global decline in the average scores of the Corruption Perceptions Index, which dropped to 42 out of 100—the lowest level in over a decade—accompanied by a decline in countries characterized by high levels of governance and integrity. This achievement reflects Jordan's efforts to enhance its capacity to combat corruption, promote transparency, and activate accountability mechanisms—especially amidst ongoing global challenges in governance and accountability.
