The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, Walid Al-Masri, confirmed that the government will cover 50% of the costs for paving and tarring roads and retaining walls. The remaining percentage will be distributed among the property owners adjacent to these areas, at a rate of 25% for each side, in accordance with laws dating back to the 1950s. He explained that these costs include parts of roads that serve more than one owner or village, and the percentage may be reduced if necessary, based on recommendations from the Council of Ministers. Additionally, amendments to the Local Administration Law aim to promote fairness and facilitate the work of municipalities, while maintaining a collection rate that does not exceed 50% of the total costs.
