A session was organized to discuss the Local Governance Act in the House of Representatives. During the session, Deputy Abdel Rahman Al-Awaisha made an unconventional comment by comparing the Prime Minister to Lionel Messi, the football star, praising his performance and management of government files, saying that he "puts Messi and Ronaldo in his small pocket." This remark was made during the discussion of the law's provisions that enhance the powers and responsibilities of local councils and distribute competencies between the central government and the provinces.
