Amman City Airport has resumed its commercial operations after years of suspension. Since the beginning of this year, it has transported approximately 200,000 passengers via 1,650 flights, establishing itself as a regional hub for air transport that connects the kingdom to more than 15 Arab and international destinations. Officials confirmed that operating the airport enhances Jordan's status as a tourist and economic destination, contributing to diversifying travel options and reducing costs by attracting low-cost airlines. There are also plans to increase the number of travelers to 2 million in the second phase of development. Additionally, airport facilities—such as lowered departure taxes and improved infrastructure—have helped attract more airlines and expand its network, thereby strengthening the resilience and sustainability of the national aviation sector.
