The municipalities in the Gaza Strip are facing a severe crisis in the water and sewage systems due to Israel's continued ban on importing generator oil and diesel necessary for operating wells and sewage stations. This has led to the suspension of most water wells, the accumulation of tens of millions of tons of rubble on the streets, and significant damage to health and essential services. Officials have warned of a health and environmental disaster that could include the spread of diseases and epidemics, as well as the halt of water, sanitation services, and the threat to the continued operation of vital facilities. They are calling on the international community and the United Nations to intervene urgently and lift the blockade on essential materials to ensure the operation of facilities and protect the population.
