High school students advised on studying abroad in unrelated majors
Mohannad Al-Khatib, Director of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education, warned high school students who wish to study abroad not to enroll in university majors that do not align with the field of study they pursued in high school. He emphasized that university degrees issued by universities outside Jordan will not be recognized by the Kingdom if the major is in conflict with the student's high school field of study—for example, a student who studied engineering and then pursued medicine abroad without verifying the compatibility of the majors. This warning comes alongside the announcement of high school results and as students begin selecting their majors, underscoring the importance of ensuring that the chosen major matches the field of study in high school to avoid the non-recognition of the qualification upon return.
