Prime Minister Opens Al-Mafraq Park and Rehabilitates University Sports Facilities

Prime Minister Opens Al-Mafraq Park and Rehabilitates University Sports Facilities

Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan inaugurated the new Al-Mafraq Garden, which was established on an area of 200 dunams adjacent to Al al-Bayt University. It is the first of its kind in the governorate. The project took 18 months to complete and includes 10,000 trees, green spaces, and recreational facilities such as rest areas, 600-meter-long walking and cycling paths, children's play areas, in addition to four sports fields and a dedicated recreational zone for seniors. The park was expanded during the initial phases to meet the needs of a larger number of citizens. Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister directed the requalification and integration of the university’s sports facilities with the park to serve the local community and promote sports and youth activities. These sports facilities include 10 fields for football, tennis, volleyball, and a racing track, and are part of the government's efforts to enhance recreational and sports spaces in the governorate. The park offers free entry and is managed by the Mafraq Joint Services Council, in line with the government’s policy to expand public and green spaces that benefit citizens and families.
