Aqaba Field Plan for Tree and Urban Improvement
The Environment and Public Safety Department in Aqaba, in collaboration with relevant authorities, has launched a field plan for tree management aimed at reducing risks that threaten public safety, properties, and infrastructure, as well as enhancing the urban landscape of the city. The assessment team surveyed 1,058 trees, of which 850 require pruning and maintenance, and 208 need removal, with a focus on priority areas such as Al-Mahdood, Rimal, and Al-‘Ashrah. The teams carried out more than 13 field tours to evaluate the technical condition of the trees, addressing trees that are entangled with power lines or threatened by collapse, based on the evaluation results. The authority will continue implementing tree treatment programs and rectifying their conditions, in parallel with regular pruning activities to ensure public safety and improve the city’s urban appearance.
