NASA launches "Roman" telescope for cosmic mapping
NASA has launched the "Romans" space telescope with the goal of creating an unprecedented map of the universe, focusing on uncovering the secrets of dark matter and dark energy, which together make up about 95% of the cosmos. The telescope aims to study the universe's expansion more precisely by surveying large areas of the sky using infrared technology, in collaboration with other observatories such as James Webb and Rubin. It is expected to contribute to our understanding of the origins of dark matter and dark energy, providing high-quality data that could alter our current models of the universe. Anticipated discoveries are likely to be surprising and may raise new questions.
