According to a U.S. source, American forces launched an attack on Iranian missile launch pads on Qeshm Island, following reports of the Revolutionary Guard's preparations to fire missiles equipped with sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded to the attack by reporting an explosion on the island, and it was also reported that a U.S. drone strike targeted the area, resulting in the death of two people and injuries to two others. These developments come amid Washington's escalation of its economic sanctions against Iran, aimed at cutting all financial links supporting the Iranian regime, amidst increasing tensions over the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing disagreements regarding freedom of navigation in the region.
