The Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt has decided to impose a supplementary exam on Jordanian students holding the Tawjihi examination who are registered in the new system, according to their specializations, during the first academic year. It is required that the exam be taken electronically via the "Study in Egypt" platform without intermediaries. This step raises concerns about its potential impact on Egyptian universities' recognition of Jordanian certificates and their presence in the education market, especially given the awareness among students and academic circles of the risks of weakening the strict status of the certificate after decades of regional and Arab recognition. These measures come as part of Egypt's attempt to establish admission standards for students, prompting questions about their effect on the reputation and international standing of the Jordanian certificate.
