An Iranian source stated that the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened under the Iranian-Omani understanding, as Iran and Oman agreed to designate new routes for entering and exiting the strait. There is a discrepancy regarding the southern route, which will be closed despite U.S. demands for its reopening. Reports also indicated that the reopening of the strait is linked to Washington implementing Tehran's conditions. Oman is preparing to hold a meeting with Iraq to discuss the outcomes of the negotiations. In a different context, the United States has requested oil tankers to pass through the strait at specific times to ensure military protection, following Iran's escalation of attacks on ships.
