Iraq reopens three Iran border crossings
Iraqi authorities announced the resumption of passenger entries and trade through three border crossings with Iran: Shalamcheh, Shib, and Mandali, based on directives from the Prime Minister. Passenger crossing operations through Shib and Shalamcheh began on Sunday morning, while commercial activity at Shalamcheh, Mandali, and Shib will resume on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday respectively, according to a specific schedule. This decision came after a regulatory and technical review of the border crossings aimed at enhancing security and maintaining smooth movement of passengers and trade, with shipments and trade continuing to cross between Iraq and Iran via Zurbatieh and Al-Mandishiya crossings around the clock.
