Tomorrow in Cardiff, the leaders of the governments of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland will meet to discuss expanding the powers of their regions and strengthening cooperation among them. This comes amid increasing calls for the regions to redefine their relationship with the central government in London. The meeting aims to draft a memorandum of understanding that reflects the parties' desire to enhance self-governance, with the Scottish National Party pushing for a new independence referendum, while Wales emphasizes the need for transferring more powers. Northern Ireland is engaged in discussions about its future Union with the Republic of Ireland. Meanwhile, London rejects the idea of holding new referendums. This unprecedented gathering brings together regional leaders with delegated governments to discuss the future of the British Union. Although current cooperation does not amount to a push for independence, it opens the door for further discussions about the future of the United Kingdom.
