Israel's Concerns Over Gun Coup in West Bank
The Israeli occupation forces are preparing for a widespread escalation in the West Bank in the coming days, including occupation of additional refugee camps and conducting large-scale military operations in northern West Bank as part of a plan to confront "terrorism." The army is monitoring the rising tension on the ground, with an increase in both settlements and outposts, and there are expectations of targeting refugee camps and a higher likelihood of clashes with Palestinians. Reports indicate ongoing arms smuggling operations and concern over a scenario of division within the Palestinian Authority, amid the possibility that the political leadership will push for occupying more camps—especially with the upcoming elections and increasing settler activities.
