Valencia Fires Coach and CEO After 5 Rounds
Valencia coach Carlos Corberán and CEO Ron Gurlay have been dismissed following the team's poor results at the start of the season. The team managed only one point from five league matches, leading to tremendous fan pressure and calls for his dismissal, with the crowd leading protests during recent matches. Corberán's tenure began in December 2024, during which he succeeded in saving the team from relegation, but he faced widespread criticism due to poor tactical performance and negative results. The dismissal came alongside the appointment of Oscar Sanchez as interim manager to lead the team while a new administrative structure is formed, following the team's drop to the bottom of the standings.
