The Omani Minister of Energy affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will open, expressing confidence that the current situation will be short-term and that stability will be achieved in the medium term. He clarified that Sultanate of Oman still has the capacity to continue producing oil and gas, but the significant rise in prices of oil and liquefied natural gas is unsustainable for everyone. He emphasized the need to diversify energy export routes through Oman or Yemen. These statements come amidst regional movements and negotiations concerning the regulation of navigation through the strait, amid tensions linked to attacks on pipelines and a ship caught fire, as well as Iran's demands that the strait not be opened unless its demands are met by the United States.
