Jordan Sees Drop in Gold and Lira
Gold prices and the Jordanian liras declined in the local Jordanian market due to the global rise in oil and petroleum prices, which led to a drop of about twenty dollars in the price of an ounce. The price of a gram of 21-karat gold, the most demanded, registered 88.300 dinars for sale and 84.300 dinars for purchase. Meanwhile, the price of 24-karat gold reached 101.200 dinars for sale and 97.500 dinars for purchase. The Rukhsah (Omani) lira was valued at 623.100 dinars, and the British pound at 711.400 dinars, according to the market price bulletin issued by the syndicate. The decline in global gold prices has directly impacted the local market.
