Jordan is planning to address the potential closure of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait through precautionary measures, including transporting containers by land, and has established alternative routes to ensure the continued flow of goods. So far, the situation remains stable, and imports via the strait continue normally. Additionally, the government will sign two preferential trade agreements with Rwanda and Uzbekistan by the end of the year to open new markets for Jordanian products. It is also considering additional agreements following its visit to Moscow. Furthermore, a tender will soon be announced for the construction of pipelines to transport natural gas, aiming to achieve 80% self-sufficiency in gas by 2028.
